What is Samsung Galaxy AI?
Samsung Galaxy AI is an AI platform developed by Samsung for their Samsung Galaxy S24 Series smartphone, including the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. This platform offers various AI features that allow users to complete multiple tasks on their Galaxy device without having to switch to different apps or platforms.
New Samsung Galaxy AI Features
Supercharged with artificial intelligence the new Samsung S24 series has Galaxy AI integrated into the device meaning you can use many of its AI features offline without using any active internet connection.
I’ve made a list of the top 8 Samsung Galaxy AI features that can be useful in our daily lives.
Please note that some of these features are still in the early stages and may get better with updates on your smartphones.
1. Smart Keyboard
Samsung has updated its default keyboard app which now comes with “Chat Assist” integration, meaning you can now check the grammar switch between different writing styles, and even translate the text into different languages seamlessly.
Whether you want to write a professional email or want an attractive caption Chat Assist can come in handy for content creators and professionals on multiple occasions, eliminating the effort and time wasted when switching between different apps for writing and proofreading.
2. Real-time Slow Motion
Users can now play any video available in their gallery in slow-motion all you need to do is just hold down the video and that’s it.
The good thing about this feature is that no matter what frames your video is captured just holding down reduces the speed to half without making it laggy resulting in smooth video playback.
3. Generative Wallpaper
Galaxy Ai now features generative wallpapers, with this feature you can use three different generative models to tweak up your wallpapers in the way you like. Using it is simple simply write a prompt of what you want your wallpaper to be, and boom it will give tons of suggestions of different wallpapers that you can apply to your homescreen.
4. Circle To Search
Circle to search is a feature on Samsung Galaxy devices that works similarly to Google Lens, but it’s even smarter. With this feature, you can easily circle any item on your device’s screen, and it will show you relevant results from Google.
5. AI Image Editing
The Galaxy AI comes with some amazing AI Image Editing features including the Generative AI Editor that can be used to edit your images with the power of AI in just a click.
Users have two options where they can either apply basic instant effects such as auto framing and background blur to their images within the gallery or they can use the power of AI to do complex editing. The edited image also includes the metta data to help identify the AI-edited image easily by looking down at the left bottom of the edited image.
Feature of Samsung Generative AI Editor
- Removing objects or people from Images and placing them somewhere else.
- Generative fill to resize your images in different aspect ratios.
6. Voice Meeting App
This feature allows you to capture meetings and recognize different speakers, with a capacity of up to 20 individuals. But that’s not all, it also enables real-time translation between languages, although it may not always be perfect. Eventually, you will see more improvement in this in the coming months with the help of updates.
7. Realtime Translation
This particular feature, which I greatly admire, allows for seamless translation of your voice into any language during a call. The best part is that the person you’re talking to can hear you in their native language without you having to learn it.
This Galaxy AI feature goes beyond just translation. It offers additional options like muting either your voice or the other person’s voice to understand the whole conversation better. Overall, the real-time translation feature is revolutionary, and Samsung has done an impressive job with it though there are a lot of possibilities in which it can improve in the coming months.
8. Other AI Features
Samsung Galaxy AI also holds many other features such as summarising text on a website or you can use the same feature for PDF or any other file type such as MS Word that contains text.
You also get an updated version of the Notes app which can not only organize your notes but also add a proper writing structure to all your notes such as headings and subheadings.
