I have been using the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G as my main device for over a week. Here’s everything you should know, both the positives and negatives, before considering upgrading to this smartphone as your primary device.
I want to mention that I used the Coral Purple color of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro 5G with the 8GB RAM and 128 Internal Storage variant.
1. Unboxing and Overview
You will receive the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G in the box, along with a 67W Power Adapter, a USB Cable, and a protective case to prevent scratches and minor damage which is pretty good.
2. Physical Overview
The first thing you notice is a design that just looks gorgeous in Coral Purple color with that matt surface at the back of the device which thankfully doesn’t attract fingerprints and feels good in hand.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G also comes with an IR Blaster to remotely control your smart devices and a headphone jack, which to me is a plus.
When it comes to disappointments, one of them is the SIM tray.
This device lets you use two 5G SIM cards at the same time, but there’s no slot for an SD card. This means you can’t increase the storage capacity.
To fully utilize this device, it’s recommended to choose the 256GB version. This way, you can make the most of its potential as it supports UFS 2.2 storage.
However, it’s worth mentioning that the storage could have been improved further.
3. Overall User Experience
The In-display fingerprint sensor feels fast and accurate you also get a smooth slide animation which indeed looks good and adds up to a very good user experience.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G comes with MIUI 14. which you can upgrade to the latest Stable Version of HyperOS – which I recommend doing to enjoy a lot better user experience.
You also get four years of security patch updates and three years of OS updates which sounds satisfying.
Talking about the storage and network you get an option of selecting from different variants (covered later in this post) which you can’t expand using an SD card as it only has space for two SIM cards in the SIM tray and the support for E-SIM is a plus.
The 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 1.5k resolution and 120Hz refers rate feels great with colors popping out also the display performs well outdoors with its 2000 nits of peak brightness.
I didn’t notice any issues whatsoever while looking from different viewing angles thanks to Dolby Vision support which makes the overall experience great.
When it comes to the camera, Xiaomi has done an excellent job with the Note 13 Pro. It can capture great pictures in both daylight and low-light conditions. However, if you zoom in on images taken in low light, you may notice some graininess. Nevertheless, it effectively handles this issue, and the sharpness and contrast are also impressive.
Considering the price segment, there isn’t much to complain about, the camera is capable of delivering a near-perfect performance.
4. Overall Performance
Moving on to the exciting aspect of performance, the device flawlessly manages to handle any challenging game without experiencing any decrease in frame rate or delays. Even when playing games such as Call Of Duty, Pubg, Asphalt 9, and various others, the experience remains consistently seamless and enjoyable.
Overall, I had a great experience using the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G for over a week. The HyperOS UI is fast and easy to use, and I haven’t experienced any major heating issues with the device.
However, it may get slightly warmer on the back when charging and playing games at the same time, but this is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
Apart from that, I don’t have much to complain about because this device offers great value for its price as a mid-range option.

It also boasts a 16 MP Front Camera for capturing stunning selfies. Additionally, it offers support for 4X zoom and comes with OIS and EIS support for enhanced stability in your shots.
You can record 4K videos at 30 fps and Full HD Videos at 60 fps the device also supports other video recording features like Slo-motion, Xiaomi Pro-cut, Macro Video, and Short Video Mode.
You can record Slow Motion videos In 1080@120 fps, 720p@120fps and 720p@240fps respectively.
