I tried the Meta AI Assistant on Instagram and let me be honest the results just exceeded my expectations.

Meta has been seen rolling out its generative AI features across all its platforms under the name of “Meta AI” which provides an all-new AI experience within social media apps such as Instagram and WhatsApp,

In this article, I will give you my first impression of using Meta AI on Instagram and briefly provide an overview of my experience using it.

What Is Meta AI Assistant?

Meta AI Assistant works as your assistant which many like to refer to as a chatbot similar to Google Assistant and Alexa but with far better capabilities. As the name suggests the Meta AI Assistant is an AI-powered personal assistant that you can use within the Meta apps such as Instagram, Messenger, and Whatsapp.

How To Use Meta AI Assistant

To use the Meta AI Assistant follow the instructions given below.

1. How To Generate Images Using Meta AI

To generate images using Meta AI, add “/imagine” or “Imagine” before your prompt or description that you use to define what the image is all about.

Example: /imagine a donut hat on a shelf

2. How To Use Meta AI In Group Chats

To use Meta AI in group chats simply type “@Meta AI” before your query and it will start recommending you suggestions based on it.

Example: @Meta AI Suggest historic places to visit in India

3. How To Use Meta AI In Search

To use Meta AI Assistant in search simply use the keyboard to type your questions or queries or you can even ask for suggestions.

Example: Suggest Profitable business ideas to start around beaches.

4. How To Use Meta AI with Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses

To use Meta AI while wearing Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses just say “Hey Meta” just like you do on Alexa or Google Home smart devices.

My Experience With Meta AI

According to Meta, they are only rolling out the Meta AIs for the US initially, but still users can take a look at how it feels to use Meta Generative AI Features within the supported apps.

Launching the Meta AI Assistant is simple. Head over to the search bar in the Instagram app and you’ll be able to see a blue circle within the search bar. You also get suggestions on how you can use the Meta Generative AI by using various queries(Prompts).

I tried the AI Chat feature which can answer your questions with a different perspective and can even generate images in real time.

Additionally, you get a watermark on generated images to help users understand that the image is generated by AI and not something to be trusted.

Meta AI is good at answering queries, so I tried the Generative AI Image feature to understand how good it is compared to other AI models when it comes to generating images.

Initially, I used a simple query suggested by the Meta AI itself but somehow it didn’t work out as Meta Generative AI struggled to generate an image, Assuming that it might be a network error I tried a few more queries and the results were surprisingly good for easy prompts.

Next, I asked Meta AI to generate a logo for the brand “Techbagpack” and as expected the image generated by AI is just total crap. which is understandable as it is something still in its initial phase and may become better over time.

My Opinions About The Meta AI Assistant

The Meta AI for a first-time user may sound fun but for users already using other AI tools like Google Gemini this is not something out of the box.

Meta has just integrated these AI capabilities within the app so that users might not need to switch to different apps for some basic tasks such as generating images or finding solutions to queries.

However, it is also worth mentioning that the rollout of Meta AI is still in its initial phase and we don’t know how far and better it will evolve with time. The only thing we should be aware of is that the opportunities are limitless.
